Quality Infrastructure for Circular Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean (QI4CE LAC)
What can metrology, standards and accreditation contribute to the creation of a Circular Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean? This is the challenge addressed by a new regional project of German development cooperation.
The new project is implemented by the leading regional cooperation of the Quality Infrastructure of the Americas (QICA) – COPANT, IAAC and SIM – together with the Organization of American States (OAS) and the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB). In a period of three years, the partners will collaborate to strengthen the quality infrastructure in the field of circular economy in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The virtual was held on June 10-11, 2021, via zoom, in order to bring together stakeholders related to quality infrastructure and circular economy to identify linkages and create synergies. The project highlights three value cycles that will be presented during the event alongside with practical examples from the construction, plastics and agrifood value cycles.
Day 1 introduces the new regional project and familiarizes participants with the key concepts of quality infrastructure and circular economy as well as the three selected value cycles.
On Day 2 the participants are invited to participate actively in value-cycle-specific working groups where they can contribute their experience and discuss questions and potential fields of action of the project.
During the event you will also learn how you and your QI institution may participate in the project and the future next steps.
